APHC Mare Owners Futurity
TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE COPPER COUNTRY PAINT – O – RAMA
December 31, 2008
ELIGIBILITY
1.
Mare must be owned by a PAID member of the Arizona Paint Horse Club at the time of nomination.
2.
Nominated mares foal must be owned by a paid member of the Arizona Paint Horse Club at the time of showing.
3.
Mare must be a bred in 2007 to produce a registerable paint foal in 2008, either regular or Solid
Paint Bred; Paint to Paint, Paint to Quarter Horse, Paint to Thoroughbred.
4.
Foals must be shown by the owner, member of owners immediate family, an APHA Novice/Amateur or APHA Youth member. Copy of the APHA Novice/ Amateur card should be sent with the sustaining,form.

JUDGING:
1. Classes will be conducted and judged in accordance with APHA rules.
FEE AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
1.
A mare nomination fee of TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) must be mailed with the mare nomination form along with a copy of the mare’s registration papers to the mare owner
futurity secretary postmarked no later than January 31, 2008. After January 31, 2008 nomination fee goes to 50.00 after February 28, 2008 nomination fee goes to 150.00 after April 30th, 2008 fee goes to 250.00 after June 30th until December 1st, 2008 fee is 350.00 NO MARE NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER DECEMBER 1ST, 2008
2. The foal Payments total one hundred forty dollars ($140.00) and are broken into two payments.
3.
The first foal payment of seventy dollars ($70.00) must be mailed to the Mare Owners futurity
Secretary postmarked no later than June 15, 2008. Foal nominations will be accepted after June 15,
2008 and before August 15, 2008 with a 50% penalty (for a total of $105.00).
4.
The second foal payment of seventy dollars ($70.00) must be mailed to the Mare Owners futurity Secretary along with a copy of the foal’s registration papers postmarked no later than August 15, 2008.
Second foal payments will be accepted after August 15, 2008 at double the foal sustaining fee for a Total of one hundred forty dollars ($140.00).
5.
Late entries will be accepted until 5PM the day before the class at double the fees.
6.
NOMINATION OR SUSTAINING FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN CANCELLATION OF THE CLASS OR THE DEATH OF THE FOAL WITH A VETERINARIANS CERTIFICATE.

2.
In case of a tie, monies to be paid for each place involved in the tie will be added together and divided Equally between the horses tied. Awards will be determined by the horse that placed highest the most Number of times. In the event there is still a tie, a predetermined tiebreaker judge will be used.
OVERALL AWARDS:
1.
First (1st) place will receive an award.
2.
First (1st) place through tenth (10th) place will receive ribbons.
PURSE DISTRIBUTION
All monies collected shall be included in the purse with the exception of a $25.00 per entry show Office fee.
The number of placings paid will be determined by the number of fully paid entries.

Monies earned will be paid by check and mailed to the owner within three (3) weeks of the close
Of the show. If recipient has any monies due to the APHC, checks will be held until monies due
Have been paid.
GENERAL RULES:
1.
There is no limit on the number of nominations made by one owner.
2.
Horses may be shown prior to the Futurity.
3.
Absolutely no substitutions of mare or foal will be permitted.
4.
Failure to provide the futurity secretary with copies of registration papers of the mare and foal and the novice amateur/amateur card prior to the show date will mean forfeiture of payments made.
5. Any protest must be made to the Futurity Committee in writing and be accompanied by
$50.00, refundable only if the protest is upheld.
6.
Futurity Committee reserves the right to cancel and/or make changes in the Futurity that may be deemed necessary
7.
Futurity classess will not count for State of National Points.
8.
It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be at the gate when the class is called.
9.
APHC AND /OR APHA AND / OR PIMA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS WILL NOT BE HELD
RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES TO HORSES, OWNERS OR EXHIBITORS IN THIS
FUTURITY.
10. There will be a twenty five dollar ($25.00) penalty charge for all returned checks.
